If it weren’t for being willing to take a risk, albeit a teensy-weensy one, along with the ability to convince others to follow, a great time that was…would have never been. Being a leader isn’t just about title and position. Most often, it’s about seeing an opportunity and being open to take advantage of it.
Success = Price, Product, & Partnership. It will become increasingly important to develop effective, productive, relationships with everyone around us. There is always someone who can under cut us in price, or produce a more finely tailored product, but they cannot beat us on relationship if they don’t have one.
Tools like Twitter, IM, SMS, and email are fabulous tools. We need to guard against their casual nature from eroding effectiveness, courtesy, or professionalism.
How often, or what, to tweet (or post status updates to Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) becomes more clear once you have a purpose in mind. Initially, I spent a few months myself simply experimenting, exploring, and observing. After a while I decided on how to use it for my own purposes.
